Problem:
How do I use Ozone's EQ Matching?
Solution:
Ozone's EQ Matching allows you to generate a special EQ setting from two spectrum snapshots - a source, and a target.
When Ozone's EQ is run in Matching mode, Ozone calculates the EQ adjustments needed to shift the source spectrum into the target spectrum, and sets up your EQ curve accordingly.
As a practical example, suppose that you wanted to transform the spectrum of one audio signal, "cat.wav," to resemble that of another, "dog.wav." To do this:
Go to your Ozone options screen, under the Spectrum tab, and set Average Time to 5 seconds or above. This will let you take snapshots that better represent the average spectrum of your sample.
Send both "cat.wav" and "dog.wav" through Ozone, and take a spectrum snapshot of each.
Set the spectrum snapshot of "cat.wav" as the source, and the snapshot of "dog.wav" as the target.
Enable Matching Mode, adjust the Matching Amount and Smoothing controls to taste, and apply Ozone's EQ to the file "cat.wav."
